A Self-Teaching Curriculum

Forgive me if I already posted this. I just can't remember!

It's a very long video, and I still haven't watched past the 40 minute mark, but if you start it this guy will grab your attention:

The remarkable Mr. Robinson offers his full 12-year curriculum for $195.

And what....the tony town I inhabit here on Long Island spends $24,000 PER YEAR, PER PUPIL!

Have you bought his curriculum? What do you think about its' worth?

Lucy,

No I have not. And I can't really in any intelligent manner speak about its worth either. I wasn't pumping his product there; I was just pointing it out.

The hard part about selling curricula to homeschoolers like myself is that we tend to be hardcore DIYers.

I just finished the video and I might try this curriculum. I agree with most of what he says. I don't agree with his approach to computers (no computer time for the kids until they have finished calculus), but I understand his reasoning.

I too favor the DIY approach, like you say, but I think I will have an easier time getting my husband on board if I have a "curriculum" (he is still balking at the idea of homeschooling).

Thanks for this link!

Wow, Heather. The whole thing?

I'm not surprised he's a Luddite - all the 'old coots' are!

The Well-Trained Mind author is as well.

I've learned more from the computer than all my *schooling* combined. So obviously I disagree strongly too.

Your hubby....is he balking like pitcher or bokking like a chicken?
